Can you tell us a little about your business?

Dalian Wanda is one of the world’s biggest and best-known property developers with over 95 shopping malls, cinemas and an extensive portfolio of commercial and residential properties across China. Wanda embarked on a global expansion programme investing in and developing landmark international projects and in October 2013 announced the establishment of its British based property development company, Wanda One (UK) Limited. This company oversees the One Nine Elms five-star luxury hotel development project in London.

What issues did you have?

As a newly established company in the UK, and despite having over £200 million in the bank, we had no credit history. Therefore we needed an IT and communications supplier who could help us establish our Berkeley Square office with all of the essential services we needed, including teleconferencing facilities with our head office in Beijing.

Why did you choose CMC?

We contacted seven medium sized IT providers to quote on our requirements but only four submitted their proposals. Our key criteria were for prompt and responsive service, reliable installation and ongoing support, all at a reasonable cost. Our choice was for CMC who were very accommodating, with fast service and flexible payment facilities.

What did they do for you?

Initially they supplied mobile phones and laptop computers to get Wanda One started. They then set up our Berkeley Square office in 6 hours one Sunday, installing cabling, VOIP Cisco phone system, WiFi and photocopiers. They now provide on-site IT support two days a week plus remote monitoring and support. When our Beijing head office specified the Cisco Telepresence video conferencing system, CMC sourced the lowest price for us and again installed over a weekend to minimise disruption.

What are they like to work with?

CMC think as if they are the client and understand exactly what a newly set-up company needs. When we arrived on the Monday after they installed our office systems, everything was even better than we expected. They are very helpful when on-site, are pro-active rather than pushy and have built good relationships with the whole Wanda One team, from receptionists to Directors. We really value their fast service and being able to contact them anytime – even late on a Sunday night. CMC obviously care about the success of Wanda One – we have already recommended them to a number of Asian companies setting up in the UK.
