Iron Vault Encryption

The General Data Protection Regulation is now law and enforcement starts on 25th May 2018.

GDPR - Iron Vault Encryption

Encryption will help solve some of the data security issues that businesses are currently facing and will lay a solid foundation to becoming compliant with the new regulation.

Countdown Timer

What is the GDPR?

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a forthcoming regulation that forces EU (including the UK) businesses and organisations to implement security procedures so that data is protected for customers as well as employees. If you are not compliant by the deadline of 25th May 2018, organisations could face a fine of up to €20m or 4% global turnover (whichever is higher).

As stated in article 32 – Security of processing: “Implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk… including encryption of personal data”.

Act now or face a fine

(up to €20m or 4% global turnover – whichever is higher)

Who will get hit by the GDPR?

Personal data can be used to identify an individual. It doesn’t matter what type of business you are, any business of any industry sector will be need to comply with the GDPR, including Financial, Public, Private or Legal.

Changes are Coming! Plan Early

The GDPR deadline starts on 25th May 2018. Businesses and organisations will struggle to make their business operations comply with the GDPR by this date unless they start taking action today.

Utilise Encryption

Encryption is the first step any business should take towards becoming compliant with the GDPR. Encrypting data makes it unintelligible to any unauthorised people.

Even The Cloud

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and working remotely has helped many organisations with benefiting from productivity, employee satisfaction and reducing costs, however there are many implications and risks involved. These risks impose heavy fines as you are exposed to variables such as unauthorised access and stolen/loss of sensitive data. The ICO highly encourages encryption and feel it is good practice when it comes to securing data. Alongside, there should be guidelines and preventative measures to support encryption. Ask our expert advisors on how we can help you become a step closer to becoming GDPR compliant.
